Estimating Through the Year

I've spent the last few days updating my Estimating Through the Year unit.  I've used it for a couple years and just thought it needed to be 'spruced up' and I'm thrilled with the result!!!!

I've filled it with everything you need to run an estimation station (or use as whole class activities).  My plan is to add more pages to it as the school year goes on so don't be surprised if the pack grows :)

Here's a peek:

As you can see all the pages have a black and white 'ink friendly' option.

Here's what's included:
An anchor chart to use for instruction and to keep at your station as a reminder of what an estimate is.
Jar labels to put on your jars.
A variety of mini-posters that include holidays, to keep your station fresh and inviting.
Ballots for students to write their estimates

You can find it HERE at my TPT store.
If you already own this you can head over to 'My Purchases' at TPT and download it for free.

Enter the Rafflecopter to win one of 2 copies, but hurry - this one ends tonight!

Hopscotch Freebie Blog Hop

Oh how I loved to play hopscotch when I was younger!  We have a hopscotch painted on our playground, but although I've showed many of the kiddos how to play I never see them playing which makes me so sad.

However, today we are going to have some hopscotch fun!

This game is easy but VERY rewarding.  All you need to do is hop from blog to blog to pick up freebies along the way!

You have arrived at

and I have a domino math FREEBIE for you :)

You can find my freebie HERE at my TPT store.

I have 2 companion packs in my store one uses dice and the other dominoes.   The freebie activity IS NOT in the unit so you'll want to download it too :)

Now that you've downloaded my freebie click on the button below to head to the next stop.

Happy hopping!!!

Monday Meet Me ... some things you might not know :)

I've linked up with my friends at The Teaching Tribune and am excited to learn a little more about my friends.  If you have a blog we'd love for you to link up too and let me know you did so I can learn about you too!

So, here's a little about me!

I teach - First Grade - it is my absolute favorite and am amazed at how much my firsties grow and change each year!
I have - Two amazing, wonderful teenagers!  My oldest just turned 19 and my youngest is 14.  They are turning into such independent young adults and I am so proud of them.
I watch - I have a few shows that I watch faithfully.  My PVR fills up through the busy school week and then I enjoy them on the weekend.  I was sooooo disappointed to hear that next season will be Parenthood's last.  I feel as if I know the Bravermans personally.
I listen - I bought my daughter and I tickets to see One Direction in August so I am really making an effort to listen to and learn their songs.  Now she tells me that the opening act is great too so now I need to find out who 4 Seconds of Summer are ?!?!  (I'm going for the best mom ever award!)
I read - We all have educational books we are reading, but when I just want to escape from the real world I read anything Nicholas Sparks and Debbie Macomber.  I was so excited to find Cedar Cove last summer and am anxiously awaiting season 2 in July :)
I do - obviously with 2 teenagers (one being a girl!) I do ENDLESS laundry.  I'm sure I wash clothes that haven't even been worn since they were washed the last time!  AND, did you know that I love to do cross-stitch?  It is such a relaxing past time.  Here are a couple of my recent projects :)

and one that took me two years :)
For those who are not familiar with cross stitch I start with a blank linen and follow a pattern (these ones are Paula Vaughn) and make teeny tiny little Xs like this.

Be sure to head on over to The Teaching Tribune to link up and/or find out more about your teacher friends.

Have wonderful Monday!
Laureen

I've missed you :)

I know you'll understand why I've been MIA for a few weeks.  I've had one teenager writing exams, graduating (sigh!) and starting a new job and another who I needed to get ready for a five-day grade eight field trip and I am on the committee organizing her middle school farewell dance not to mention school report cards and everything that goes along with them - LOL

Anyway, I'm BACK and promise I have lots of ideas that I will be sharing with you soon!

In the meantime, did you know that I am on Facebook?

If not, you might want to check out my page soon because tomorrow I am having some giveaway fun!

You can find my page HERE.

I have ten more school days left this year.  When is (was) your last day?
